FAQ

  • How do I make an appointment?
    To make an appointment, please call (01624) 62 62 96. An answer machine system operates to enable patients to receive uninterrupted treatments. Please leave a message and a therapist will return your call as soon as possible. Or email admin@physio-iom.com stating when you are available and we can email you with an appointment.
  • Do I need to be referred by Dr?
    You do not need a referral for private physiotherapy.
  • How long will my treatment last?
    The standard treatment lasts 45 minutes but some Health Care Insurance contracts means that some treatments are 30 minutes
  • How do I pay?
    We take payments in Cash, Cheque, Bacs and transfers
  • What do I do if I can't make my appointment?
    If you need to cancel or postpone an appointment, please note that 24 hours notice is required. A charge will be made, if notice of cancellation is not given.
  • Will my health insurance pay you directly?
    We have contracts with a number of insurance companies and the cost of treatment, and appointment duration varies accordingly to your insurer. For Bupa, AXA/PPP and Nuffield Health we direct bill the insurance company. Other insurance companies we will ask you to pay us and we will email you a receipt for you to claim back.
  • Do you do home visits?
    The practice also offers Domicillary visits within a 5 mile radius of the clinic.
  • Where is your clinic located?
    Farmhill Physiotherapy is located at Snaefell Doctors Surgery Directions from Douglas: From Quarterbridge travel along the new Castletown Road and turn right at the second set of traffic lights into Anagh Coar. Follow the road past the Heron pub and park on your left in the car park of the spar and Pharmacy. Snaefell Surgery is located above the Pharmacy.
  • What is the access facilities at your clinic?
    There is a ramped access to the surgery for wheelchair and pushchair users, or for those patients who find stairs challenging. We also have a wheelchair for patient use should this be required. Patients are reminded that this is used at their own risk and the surgery holds no responsibility to any injury or accidents caused during its use.
  • Can you undertake workplace assessments?
    With advancing technology and increased automation, individuals are spending more time at their workstation. The corresponding increase in prolonged sitting subjects the body to additional strain and as a consequence health and safety issues have become a real concern. Farmhill Physiotherapy offers a comprehensive on-site work station assessment service performed by chartered physiotherapists. The assessment includes:- Job/task analysis HSE compliance check Risk Assessment Identification of urgent HSE non compliance issues A detailed report giving recommendations for improvement, where appropriate. Training Seminars Physios undertake a thorough assessment of each patient and decide the best treatment based on clinical experience, experimental learning and research evidence.
