WENDY SHALLCROSS BSc(phys)., M.C.S.P., H.P.C reg., O.C.PPP.
A Chartered and State Registered Physiotherapist, Wendy qualified from Leeds University with a Bachelor Science Degree in Physiotherapy in 1993. On qualifying, she worked at Aintree University hospitals in Liverpool, which provided her with extensive experience in all aspects of Physiotherapy including Musculoskeletal, Neurology and Respiratory. She briefly worked at Noble’s Hospital, Isle of Man before moving to gain experience in a private clinic in Darwin, Australia. She then returned to the Island to found Farmhill Physiotherapy in 1998.
Wendy is a member of the CSP and is a credential McKenzie practitioner. Her particular interests are musculo- skeletal disorders and in particular spinal pain. Wendy is also a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics (ACPOHE) which qualifies her to undertake work place assessments to comply with the Display screen Equipments (DSE) regulations. She also provides training for DSE users and Assessors and Manual Handing training. Over the last few years Wendy has built up contracts with many of the banks and small businesses on the Island for assessments and training. Wendy has also has the Nebosh qualification certificates.
Wendy is married with 2 children, and her hobbies include running (road and fell running), road biking and swimming. She participates in many of the local sporting events from the Manx Mountain Marathon to triathlons. Wendy recently ran in the London marathon for the second time, where she has also been team physiotherapist on 3 occasions treating the elite athletes on the last occasion.
Wendy knows from firsthand experience the frustration of injuries and rehabilitation back to full health.
